We usually turn them around within 24-48 hours depending on the work on the bench when you drop them off. We do have loan knives you can borrow so you don’t go hungry!

It is based on the length of the blade and it averages around $1.60 for every 25mm or 1 inch in the old scale. Our knife sharpening rates are from $6.00. On average it cost approximately 15 to 20% of the cost of the knife to have it sharpened and we get them sharper than new.

It depends on the usage, the Chefs we sharpen for get their knives sharpened every 4 to 6 weeks but they are using them daily and also keep an edge while working on a steel hone which keeps the edge longer. When you are having trouble slicing a tomato, its time to sharpen them.

Do not store with other steel kitchen items – this will take an edge off the blade. Use a ceramic or steel honing rod/tool to keep an edge on the blade by stroking the blade across the hone at approx. 20 degrees. Use a wooden cutting board to protect the blade. Do not place in the dishwasher the detergent is too abrasive for a quality steel blade.
